About AI Freedom Stack
A solo builder's record of the AI tools actually shipped with: what they cost, what broke, and what we would use again.

What this is
AI Freedom Stack is written by a solo builder who ships small products on nights and weekends, using AI tools to do the work of a small team.
This site is the record of the tools used to do that. Not a directory. Not a ranking. Just what I picked, what it cost, what broke, and whether I’d pick it again.
Why it exists
Most tool reviews are written by people who opened a free trial for an afternoon. I’d rather read one from someone who ran the thing for six months, hit the wall, and can tell me where the wall is. So that’s what I write.
Every post here answers the same five questions:
- What was I trying to do?
- Which tools did I try, and which one won?
- What broke or annoyed me?
- Who should use it, and who should skip it?
- What could I not have known without using it?
If I haven’t used a tool, I say so. If a tool is on a page because it’s an alternative people ask about and I haven’t run it, it’s labeled “not tested.”
How this site makes money
Some tool links are affiliate links and are marked. That includes some product links to Amazon: as an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. When you sign up or buy through one of these links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes the verdict. Several tools I recommend hardest have no affiliate program at all, and several that pay well get criticized here.
